Being overweight is hard on the feet, the "thing like arches, plantar fasciitis (heel spurs) can and drought disasters, or corns.

to distinguish between a blood clot and "normal" swelling to check these things:
symmetrical? (it would probably not be a blood clot)
It is hot in every part of the calf? (AW LEG / ACLOT tends hot)
when the foot is flexed, the opposite of the pressure on the gas there is a sharp pain in the calf? If so, what is the hallmark of a blood clot called Homan + sign.

Swelling of the feet can also be a sign of other health problems in any case, you should check to make it just to be safe.

take care!
